Kyrgyzstan Visa-Free Countries

Without a visa, citizens of Maldives can stay in Kyrgyzstan for up to 30 days.

Citizens of Cuba can stay in Kyrgyzstan without a visa for the period of the booked tour package:

Tourist Visa to Kyrgyzstan

If your country is not listed anywhere above, you’ll need to apply for a tourist visa to Kyrgyzstan.

A tourist visa (type “TS”) is issued to an applicant intending to visit the Kyrgyz Republic for tourism purposes for up to 90 days.

According to current visa requirements for Kyrgyzstan, citizens of the following countries do not need a Letter of Invitation to obtain a visa, and they may receive their visa from any Kyrgyz embassy/consulate, through the online portal (e-visa) or upon arrival to Manas Airport in Bishkek:

Citizens of other countries must have a Letter of Invitation to obtain a visa through a Kyrgyz embassy or consulate.

Electronic Visa

An electronic visa to Kyrgyzstan is available for citizens from most countries, including Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong.For an electronic visa a Letter of Invitation (LOI) is not required.You can apply for an electronic visa online on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan at www.evisa.e-gov.kg.

The processing time for applications is 3 business days, although by choosing the ‘rush’ option and paying approximately $150, you can have it processed in one business day.The Kyrgyzstan e-visa fee will vary depending on the validity of the visa (30 or 90 days). You can pay the visa fee with a Visa or MasterCard.

How to Obtain a Letter of Invitation to Kyrgyzstan

A visa to Kyrgyzstan can be obtained at a Kyrgyz embassy or consulate with a Letter of Invitation (LOI)/Visa Support Form from a travel agency in Kyrgyzstan.

To obtain an LOI, you’ll need to submit the following:

  • Copy of your passport
  • Payment (app. $55)
  • Completed LOI form, which the supporting travel agency will provide you. Apart from general personal information, you’ll need to provide answers to the following questions on your LOI form:
    • Date of your arrival and departure from Kyrgyzstan
    • The embassy/consulate in which you’ll receive a visa (city,country)
    • Number of visits (one / several)
    • Cities you plan to visit in Kyrgyzstan
    • Purpose of the visit
    • Temporary address in Kyrgyzstan
  • If you’re applying for a visa to Kyrgyzstan in a country other than your country of citizenship, you’ll also need to provide a copy of your visa for that country.

Processing time for a Letter of Invitation to Kyrgyzstan is usually between 10 days-2 weeks. OrexCA is currently unable to provide LOI support.

Obtaining a Kyrgyzstan Visa through an Embassy or Consulate

If, according to Kyrgyzstan visa requirements, you must obtain your visa through an embassy, you’ll need to submit the following:

  • Completed LOI form (see above)
  • Passport, valid through the duration of your stay in Kyrgyzstan
  • Passport copy
  • 1-2 passport photos
  • Visa processing fee

Registration in Kyrgyzstan

According to current visa requirements for Kyrgyzstan, anyone who enters Kyrgyzstan on a visa must register at the local police station (OVIR / ATS) within five days from arrival in the country. Citizens of Uzbekistan, while not required to have a visa, must also register.

Important! A special permit is required to visit or transit through some regions of Kyrgyzstan. These mainly include places along the Chinese border, as well as locations in the Issyk-Kul and Naryn regions.

You can apply for these special permits in-country through the OVIR office (Visa and Registration Dept.) To receive a permit in advance, you’ll have to have it processed through a travel agency for a fee, or it can be obtained as part of a tour package with select companies. OrexCA is unable to provide support for such permits.
